Abstract:
We will discuss how to conduct an effective peer review of a submitted journal manuscript including how to provide insightful feedback that is constructive and helpful for both authors and editors.
2025 Speaker Bio:
Heather F. Smith, PhD
Dr. Smith is a Professor of Anatomy at Midwestern University and Editor-in-Chief of The Anatomical Record. She teaches human gross anatomy to medical and graduate health science students. Her research focuses on evolutionary biology and comparative anatomy of wide range of vertebrate taxa, especially turtles, carnivorans, and primates, using dissection and imaging of extant species and paleontology of extinct life forms. She is a Fellow of the American Association for Anatomy and serves on the Open Science Committee of the Non-clinical Tomography Users Network (NoCTURN).
